Reaching God's Children
Reaching God's Children
My husband and I have attended Pastor Moore’s church for several months. On our first visit we could feel the Holy Spirit working through Pastor Moore. The work that he is doing for our community is truly inspired by the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. We have seen first hand how the needs of the Lord’s children are met through the works of Pastor Moore.
Pastor Moore is feeding the people’s spirit with the true word of the Lord. May the Lord Jesus continue to bless his ministry.
I have heard someone say that Sunday is the most segregated day of the week. We like to congregate with people who look like us, act like us, and have similar paychecks as us. But at the corner of 17th St. and Florida Blvd., one finds a different kind of Sunday congregation. There, you will find a diverse multitude. Some people have jobs, and some don’t. Some people have dark skin, and some have light skin. Some people sleep indoors, and some sleep outdoors. Those, who come to give help, leave after receiving a blessing. Those, who come to receive help, become empowered with a spirit to give. Despite these differences, there is a spirit of togetherness that seems to grow every week. My personal quest for God has led me to the parking lot of Money Mart where I find Pastor Moore passionately preaching Jesus’ message of love and message of hope for the poor and broken, a message meant for everyone.
Pastor Moore is a true Man Of God and has accepted His call to minister to the Homeless here in Baton Rouge. It is a blessing and an honor to serve Our Lord with Pastor Moore and Our brothers and sisters in Christ at The Open Air Ministry.
“A LINK BETWEEN HUNGER AND HOPE”!
Pastor Moore is such an Angel to this mission he is doing to help the homeless! He is truly helping others. He is a joy to deal with everytime he comes to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank! He truly is part of our mission here at the food bank.
It is a blessing for my husband Dean and me to see the desire of Pastor Moore’s heart be given to him through God’s new Internet Ministry and the GED Preparation Program. We have been priviledged to watch God move our brother-in-the-faith from part-time pastor to a full-time minister serving men, women and children from all walks of life in the name of Jesus. We continue to pray for God’s will to be done each day through His servant Pastor Joseph Moore.
What a real ministry! What a true ministry! What a giving ministry! And God has surely chosen the right man. Preaching the gospel of Christ minus the prostitution of it. Helping the poor, the sick, and the needy as best he can with what he has. I feel comfortable supporting this ministry and I feel sure that whatever I do in support of it is done on good fertile ground. Thank God for people like Joseph Moore and ministries like his.
I’m a member of First Presbyterian Church. I feel priveleged to have the opportunity to serve alongside my husband, Kyle Beall at the Homeless Ministry once a month. It is always refreshing to hear Pastor Moore preach the Gospel with such enthusiasm. Thank you for reaching out to bring hope the lost in our community.
Pastor Moore and this Ministry has been a true blessing to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and our mission. We greatly appreciate the new established relationship between the Food Bank and the YMCA has been a wonderful outlet to help us reach places of great need that could not be fullfilled without this new branch of life. Pastor Moore has been consistent in his mission to help others and we support the efforts of this orgainzation with the best of our blessings. Louisiana is ranked #1 with children under the age of 5 dying of starvation, with organizations such as YMCA, Visions of God and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank working through Christ this too shall pass.
I began coming to the church under the tree, by the 1st. of Aug. I will move into my own apt. and before, that time comes, my financial breakthrough will have manifested as well, and my vehicle, I give Jesus all the praise and all the Glory, For His Mercy Endures Forever! come and join us for the church under the tree, and experience God’s manifested presence in your life and be set free, according to Isa.61-1, in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
Pastor Moore and Open Air Ministries has been providing a wonderful Christian outreach in Baton Rouge. First Presbyterian Church is happy to be a part of this ministry. Pastor Moore has a special gift in reaching those in our community who are destitute and forgotten. Thank you for your steadfast witness and continuous work to serve the homeless.
I’d just like to give GOD all the glory,Last year right after hurricane Gustav I had the misfortune of being homeless and basically sleeping wherever I could find shelter,I had ran into Reverend Joseph and his street ministry and through the help of his prayers and various other outreach centers and churches i can really say GOD will never leave you nor forsake you. during my ordeal there had been a few times over the past year i had thought about throwing in the towel but i always knew God has something in store for me and HE has something in store for all of His children we just have to be able to persevere on. a couple of scriptures have really stuck out in my mind,1 being Matthew 9 vs 1 hrough 5 where Jesus and the Disciples were walking on the road and they came across a blind man and one asked Father why is this man blind? did he or his parents sin? Jesus replied this man was born blind so that the glory of the Father can been seen through him and then he was healed and Matthew 11 28 through 30 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.if we have the faith in GOD he can do anything and open doors where there seems to be no way on earth I just want to give GOD all the honor and all the glory for keeping his eyes out on the few sheep that wander away from the flock from time to time and send out a message to anyone that reads this that may be going through something right now …no matter what it is you are going through if you just keep GOD above it all He will see you through,HE says also I will never leave you nor will i forsake you,and another scripture that comes to mind isHebrews 11 vs. 1 through 5 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen i don’t have the space to type the rest but it is a powerful scripture once again i just want to thank Reverend Joseph for having an open ear and listening when God Called him to this ministry.
I have been involved with the Florida and 17th ministry for 2 years now through University Baptist Church. I was interested to share my music and give my talents. But I have been on the receiving end indeed by seeing Rev Moore in action and witnessing the impact he is making. This has changed my personal perspective on the homeless forever and I am fortunate to be a part. This ministry is truly making a difference in Baton Rouge by providing spiritual and physical needs to hurting people.
Just over 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to “help” with a homeless ministry service at 17th Street and Florida Boulevard. I went there with the goal of ministering to the needs of the homeless people in the city of Baton Rouge. At this first service, I had the pleasure of meeting Reverend Joseph Moore along with many people that I might never have come in contact with otherwise. Since that time I have attended this open air service on a monthly basis. Each time I go there with the intention of helping others less fortunate than me. Each time I leave having been touched, helped and humbled by these same people. I am always in awe and aware of God’s presence at these gatherings. God speaks to all of us through Reverend Moore.
I have known Pastor Joseph Moore through his membership at the YMCA and his work for the YMCA homeless ministry. Reverend Moore is a Christian gentleman of congenial fellowship and active faith who follows in the words of Christ: “Whatsoever you have done unto the least of my brethren, you have done unto me.” He leads through inspiration, unwavering faith and good humor. He provides comfort to those in need and is energetic and tireless in fulfilling his missions.
Good Morning and God Bless, I must say this about Pastor Moore, He has been a friend and brother to me for over 17 years. I’m bless to have a friend in Christ a man truly of God. Pastor Moore doesn’t sugar coat anything and that’s a man of honesty and honor. I’ve come to him on many occasions and Pastor Moore has told me the “the only way is God way” and he’s right. Pastor Moore we both have been through struggles since we’ve known each other but brother God has told me its our season now, keep leading the fight Pastor Moore God has won the battle for you already. A brother, a friend and a man of God, I must say. Pastor Moore thanks for being there. Oscar Hills IV
My testament began when I became homeless and had to live in the woman’s shelter. This in itself was a blessing. Then while on the charitable campus of St. Vincent de Paul that is where I met Pastor Moore. He is the real meaning of a “Pastor”. He administers to those whom are without clothes, physical food, spiritual food and/or shelter. While attending services at the “open air ministries”, I observed Pastor Moore to teach brotherhood, fatherhood, motherhood, sisterhood, the charities that begin at home. He acts as a shepheard looking for lost flock. I have not heard these teachings since I was a very small child from the old time religion. I feel right at home. I received an anointed seed of corn from Pastor Moore, I planted it. I received one anointed penny from Pastor Moore, I cherished it, and now, I am awaiting those blessings produced from those seeds which will be bringing me to the closing table for my own house next month. Our prayer requests are being met. I can not thank Pastor Moore enough for his spiritual uplifting and his continuous fruits of the spirit that he displays for all to see. From monday through saturday I reflect on the message Pastor Moore brings on Sunday. He truly is a beacon light that has helped me to find my way through this storm.

It is such a great blessing to have someone like Pastor Moore to “STAND IN THE GAP”. I met Pastor Moore approximately one year ago through my son. Need I mention that Pastor Moore had already preached the gospel to him. Prior to meeting Pastor Moore, I recognized a change in my son….he had spiritually matured. After a dialogue with Pastor Moore, I learned that he had been praying for my son – intercessory in prayer, “STANDING IN THE GAP”. Moreover, Pastor Moore had blessed him with clothing and toys for his daughter. In getting to know Pastor Moore in dept, I have actually witnessed him praying for others, preaching the gospel of God and giving God the highest praise. Pastor Moore is truly a faithful servant of the Lord who sacrifices and lays down his life that is strong, vital and clean for the sake of God’s people with whose souls he has been entrusted. He is a man who loves Christ and values the life of Christ in himself and the Church; a man who seeks to share his God given blessings with others. His role is one of teaching, motivating and persuading people to be disciples for Christ and to lead others to the Saviour. Pastor Moore puts on the whole armor of God daily and reaches out to the homeless and drug addicts with love, ministering to them on the streets and corners, praising God, counseling, finding shelter and jobs, and giving food and clothing. Pastor Moore loves God with all his heart, with all his might, with all his soul. His model is Christ! His desire is for others to love the Lord as he does and to live a christian life, i.e., a lifestyle of holiness and mature christian living. May God continue to bless Pastor Moore and send His guardian angels to encamp around him for protection.
I am truly blessed by the opportunity to strive together in ministry with Pastor Moore. God has uniquely equipped him for a ministry to the homeless in Baton Rouge and he has obediently and fervently answered the Lord’s call. Every time I hear him preach or experience his personal healing touch on another I am reminded that we were put on earth to be Jesus’ hands, feet, heart, and mouth, and I am thankful for his example. Thank you Pastor Moore for all you do.
I am a living testimony. I have known Pastor Moore for many years. He has been a great mentor for young males, with and without a father, throughout my community and neighboring communities. I have served under his pastoral leadership in past years. A man with his visions and vitality, the work of God shall prevail. His teachings and guidance will equip anyone that’s in need of God’s word to hunger for more on a daily basis. His love for Jesus is exemplied daily as he nurture, teach, and give to the homeless and those in need.
